LOUNGING IN NEW YORK

While we had a quick minute in New York we stayed at the amazing Pod 39 Hotel. The whole concept of Pod Hotels is to offer hip and trendy accommodations at a thrifty price. It had an amazing ambiance and was definitely a modern hip. And they aren’t lying when they say pod. The rooms are tiny.. and I mean tiny. But it totally served it’s purpose. A place to sleep, keep your things, and take a shower. You don’t want to be hanging around in a hotel room when you’re in New York anyway!!!

But I don’t want to sound like a hotel review. The best, best part of the hotel was it’s rooftop bar. I heard a New Yorker [in passing] say “You don’t get very many rooftops like that in New York” as she left the bar one night. It was amazing. The view [including the Empire State Building] was fantastic, the decor made you fantasize about having it in your own home, and some of the most tasty [and exclusive] drinks in town.

My favorite time to go up to the rooftop was early in the morning. Before the heat, before the people, before heading out into the city. It was such a nice spot to sit quietly and sip on your coffee. I was obsessed with the lounge area with it’s leather chairs and african print pillows. [I have mentally prepared my future home with a lounge area just like that.] I could of hung out there all day just lounging around. It was a great way to start the day in New York.

Taking time to lounge in New York.
