SLIDING THRU NYC

(Photos by: TR & me)

One last round of vacation snaps and I promise there won’t be any more getaway photos for a while [sadly].

I’ve never actually been to New York City for pleasure so you can imagine the amount of touristy things we tried to fit in a few days. And the walking.. the walking!! I’m pretty sure my feet have grown a completely different entity from all the walking we did [esp. in not so walk-friendly shoes.] I should probably open a savings account for my feet with all the problems I’m going to have when I’m older. Or I should just invest in better shoes. Hah.

But I digress.

I love the city. There is such a creative, energetic vibe in the buildings, the streets, the people. I always think I want to move there every time I visit.. than I realize that means I actually need to find a job instead of shopping and hanging out in cafés all day. That might ruin it a little. But that is my favorite part of NYC. The shopping [of course] and the café life. Especially the café life. I love all the amazing restaurants and wish I could eat at every good restaurant but it would take months to eat through the city. I wish I could do that.

We hit all the spots: Liberty and Ellis Island via ferry, bike rides in Central Park, hit up the Today’s show to watch Jason Mraz live, strolled Highline Park, 9/11 Memorial, watched Dear, Suburbia in Long Island with our Salt Surf friends, hung out with new friends NYC Urchin & Mer Bags [more on them soon!!!], and of course we ate at a lot of great places and fit in some [speed] shopping.

All and all, a great [and quick] trip.. sliding thru NYC.
