These photos are absolutely amazing. Amazing. I’ve always had this mini-obsession with the desert and western American culture [if you haven't noticed.] And the girls at Spell and the Gypsy Collective know exactly how to emulate that sense of spirit and wander. It’s the perfect mix of hot heat and cool beach. Hence, desert island. I’m obsessed with the abundance of cowrie shells, fringe, and leather suede.

But these girls have a real niche and it just keeps getting better and better. I think it is incredibly refreshing to see them blowing it up in Australia [and worldwide] and really making it happen. I started following them several years ago when they were just a blog, selling handmade jewelry at markets in Australia, and doing it for the love of it all. It is so exciting to see people going for it, doing it and doing it good. I feel a bit of connection to them because [in some ways] I feel like I was there from the beginning.. seeing glimpses into their world and watching it grow. Hah. I guess the real way to be a part of it all is to christen myself with some of their jewelry [something I have not done yet.. shame on me.] But hey, if that’s the sacrifice I have to make.. noooo problem!
