I always feel like the best images I have ever captured have been of my friends. And usually with very little on. The woman's body is such a beautiful thing. Curves, smooth skin, and [especially girls from Hawai'i] tan skin with tan lines in all the right places.
Veronica owns a little bikini company and sews all the swimsuits herself. Although her suits are amazing [can't wait to get a few of my own!!] I think she looks a lot better without one on. She looks so elegant and poised against the black sand. Uninterrupted and at complete ease with herself and where she is.
And I have been obsessing over the Big Islands black sand and beaches. It has been the perfect backdrop for all of my images lately. I am finding it hard to be inspired by anything else. I think the Big Island is calling me home. Sooner than later I hope.
I would love to spend more time on imagery like this. I think women are often subject to a different kind of nudity that make people feel uncomfortable [or other ways that should only be felt in private]. But the women's body should be celebrated and viewed as fine art.
Lay lady lay.
