A huge part of having good hair is having the style to match it. I have always wanted my style to look effortless.. sort of like the Hawai'i version of Parisian chic. Granted, there are times I don't try at all [it's really easy to do that in Hawai'i] and most days are spent in a bikini and pareo. Which is as effortless as it gets.. sometimes in the worse way possible. But fashion and style has always been important to me and I will probably spend a lifetime curating the perfect closet.
For the shoot, I wanted to make sure my style was translated just the same. I love mixing prints but not in a ridiculous way. I don't like my outfits to ask for a lot of attention. For this particular outfit, I chose to pair a floral print with stripes. I love Acacia's bird of paradise print they did this season and decided to incorporate it with a pair of Free People striped pants. Linear stripes are great for slimming and elongating your figure.. and I am never opposed to that! Not pictured are my pearl.love jewels. A Hawai'i girl has always gotta be decked out in the island-version of diamonds. And those are always pearls [or shells.. of course.] It are these sort of outfits that I love. Fashionable without trying too hard.
I think that same idea of effortlessness goes for my hair. Most of the time it is up in an aunty bun [or topknot for all you hair savvy peeps.] So you know something is different if/when it's down. Now, I'm not gonna sit here and try to sell you a product. Although I did a campaign with them.. I don't like blatantly selling stuff to people. I always want to perpetuate an authentic and real life. If I like a product, I want you guys to know about it. If not, that would take out all the fun of blogging. And I have to say that if there is one hairstyling product I need, it will now and forever be the Bumble and Bumbles Surf Infusion. I never straighten, style, or put a lot of product in my hair. But the Surf Infusion is a great, low-fuss way to keep the waves in my hair and avoid the stray-aways. And that's how I like it.
