The strong trade winds have made surfing a little unpleasant lately. But it hasn't stopped us from getting in the water. And I really wish I could blame the wind and ill-breaking waves for my bad surfing abilities lately. I would except I saw a couple other people ripping hard and decided I couldn't let a little wind take fault. Well, I guess I could a little. I'm sitting here listening to the wind gusting through the coconut trees and I definitely think its a contributor to bad surf.
But with the wind comes a little extra coverage; neoprene.
I've been rocking a lot of neoprene lately, including the Billabong Spring Fever Spring Suit and Salty Jane Long John [as seen on Brooke and me.] As much as I would like the weather to feel a little more like summer it is really nice to have an extra layer of warmth with these chilly north winds pelting the islands. Let's just hope it doesn't last that much longer.
The only other benefit to strong winds and bad surf?? Empty lineups and the best view at sunset.
