Yep! I'm going to Peru! This will be my first backpacking trip.. ever. And while most adventure blogs will advise on the most convienent and/or economical things to pack for a trip.. this is not an adventure blog. And I am suggesting both function and fashion! Sort of. I just want to have aesthetically pleasing belongings on my trip!
This trip was planned on a whim. Just one month ago my friend Shadi and I decided that we were going anywhere for a month. One of the best tools we ever used was Google Flights. I highly recommend checking it out. My favorite feature is the maps. You can put in specific dates, pull up Google Maps, and it will show you every available destination with the best possible price from every available airline! It gave us great perspective for our trip! It helped us figure out where we wanted to go and we've already started planning our future trips!
And so, of course, the quest to the find best (and most trendy) outdoor gear ensued. Shadi and I spent long hours on our computers finding the right gear for our trip. A few of the gems on my trip include my Mer Bag (waterproof, trek-worthy, and most of all.. colorful), my Patagonia Nano-Air jacket (for sale online right now!), and my Woolrich boots (vibram soles, leather, and tough). And all the goodies in between.
My 6D camera and GoPro are must haves. I added an Incase silicon cover to protect it while we are trekking. And I recently got a Lifeproof case to protect my phone (past phones have taken dives into different bodies of water while I was on vacation..) It will be a lifesaver!
And my friend Ashley over at Lucky We Live Hawaii donated a bunch of gear for the little kids and other rad people we will visiting while we're there! So excited to be spreading the aloha with a rad company!!
so, wish us luck as we embark on this South American adventure! And 48 hours of travel (including a 15 hour bus ride to our first town!! Eek!)
Packing for Peru. Here we go!!
PS. In order to fully enjoy my trip I decided to leave my laptop behind! But not to worry! I planned ahead and will have posts throughout my time away!
