MOTHER MAY I

(Photos from: here)

I have been obsessed with Mother Denim ever since they hit retail stores. I always thought I belonged in the 70′s and their denim is just another way to feel like it. It has a dated quality that makes the feel and look of the denim nostalgic like they’ve seen a few road trippin’ summers and rock shows. So here’s the low down: Having previously worked for Citizens of Humanity and 7 For All Man-Kind, Co-designers Tim Kaeding and Lela Tillem got together to create a more personal, fresh, and iconic denim brand separated from jeans mainstream. It’s a brand for that edgy girl looking to be a little rocker but still feel feminine. You know?  And all the denim is hand made in the good ol’ USA!!! All the more reason to love.

When I came across these paradise of a pant I think my eyes dilated a little bit. How appropriate for the island loving, statement -piece wearing fashion girl?! And it’s just the right amount of color and print to clear the tacky category. It’s also a great alternative to a lot of the spring runway with island-ish inspired prints (e.g. Stella McCartney for an arm and a leg.) You can check out more denim delights on the Mother Denim website.

And until these bad boys hit the retail stores, oh boy oh brother oh mother.. I’ll be waiting!!
