Sadly, I think I waited too longer and Europe has become but a memory. Besides these small town gems the rest of my photos are going to sit in a folder labeled “Europe” and get perpetually forgotten until I have more time to sort through them. Trying to come up with a nice little bundle of photos and a theme is really hard. This time around anyway. And I can’t figure out if the photos are just really bad or too good to only pick a few. I cannot decide. Haha. I actually have a couple more little photo moments to share but don’t hold your breath. They could appear at any time. But who knows. Maybe you folks are as disinterested as I have become. But believe me.. a couple weeks ago I wasn’t.
Anyway, like I mentioned earlier Durbuy is known as the “Smallest Town in the World” and what I consider one of the most beautiful countrysides I have ever laid eyes on. Green empty fields, wild flowers, beautiful ranging horses, lounging cows, crisp cool air. It was so incredibly scenic and nearly no other human beings around. The day after my dear friend Kumari’s wedding a couple of us had a chance to peek around the place. I don’t know if I mentioned that she lives in a castle. Yes, a castle!! Yeah sure no big deal. We also got to go on a nice little bike ride [which I unfortunately do not have photos to share because they are in a whole other set of from my iPhone gallery. eeeek sorry.] Any time there is an opportunity to see a place on a bike I am there for sure.
It was such an incredibly peaceful and serene place. I would love to go back and stay a while more. Maybe do some meditation and relaxation on a real level? Sounds good to me.
Oh, to be abroad and in a small town.
