2B – 2 BANDITS TOO

(Photos from: here)

I blogged about 2 Bandits some time ago [for their holiday collection] and was completely obsessed. But then I was even thrilled to find the newest collections diversity!! It’s so nice to see designers being multi-faceted and exploring different design concepts. I especially love the overall appeal of this look book. It reminds me of going up into the hills for chilly weather camping. Bon fires, chunky wool sweaters, and quick skinny dips included.

I love all of the sun dials and dainty touches of stone mixed with metal and silver belting. There is a refreshing contrast between bohemian whimsy and cowboy toughness. Sundials and silver belt cuffs. Hanging out in trees wearing nothing but jewelry and a pair of boots.

I’d like to decorate all my limbs with 2B. I want to be a bandit too!!

HOD

(Photos by: me)

Okay, so before I go deeper in to my Europe vacation neglect I neeeeeed to talk about this jewelry/accessories store HOD. It has the most beautiful mix of quirky and refined jewelry/accessories in Le Marais area of Paris. The owner, Valérie, is the sweetest, friendliest, and all around hippest Parisian you will ever meet in the city. Her store and her persona give Parisian a whole new light [to those who have ever heard not-so-great things about the people.] More personally, she has become a close friend who treated me like family while I was in the city of lights.

Anyway, HOD has a great mix of designer and authentic craftsman pieces that you have always dreamed of having but could never really find. Like the cool and funky Dezso by Sara Beltran seahorse stud earrings or those Navajo hand-beaded bracelets. Everything has a pop of color and the displays are incredibly avant garde [if you will.] Did you happen to take a close look at the steer skull completely hand carved with intricate designs on it?? Unbelievable I want one!! Everything is worldly and with a little bit of travel [and probably a story too.]

So if you happen to be in the Le Marais area and need some hip jewelry HOD is a must!!

THE 2 BANDITS

(Photos from: here)

I was cruising around the net [going to my usuals] when I happened upon this gem of a look book. Now I’m day dreaming about road trips to Austin, the desert, and stopping at a Navajo or Zuni reservation. Or.. I could settle with designer Tamar Wider’s The 2 Bandits online jewelry stand. Which wouldn’t be a bad decision judging that she several generations deep in the jewelry business.

I have a slight obsession with Native American jewelry and Southwestern charm. I was just talking to my sister and told her that I am attracted to Texas-American interpretation of fashion. You know: American flags, daisy duke shorts, sterling silver, turquoise, worn out boots, messy hair. It’ll never go out of style. The 2 Bandits is a perfect representation of that style.

And I don’t know if any one noticed but a lot of the wardrobe is made up with One Teaspoon and the like. I noticed. Another one of my favorites. Gimme those brown suede shorts!

The 2 bandits Holiday 2013 look  book. Check it out!

HOLST + LEE | STATEMENT PIECES

(Photos from: here)

Pretty obsessed with Holst + Lee Jewelry/Accessories line ever since I saw it styled on the Mara Hoffman Spring 2012 Fashion Show. I’m gonna try and  get my hands on at least one piece when I’m New York.. might need to sell a liver but whatever. Maybe I’ll even try to sneak to the showroom just to touch/see/feel?! Haha. They’re pretty fab. I must say. I think they would be great Christmas gifts.. actually. You know, because I wouldn’t mind getting one as a stocking stuffer or something. Hint hint. Magnets and beads and and intricate threading and colors. Heck yes.

Appropriate statement pieces for the fashionable island girl. Heh.

DEZSO BY SARA BELTRAN

(Photos taken from: here and here)

Dezso by Sara Beltran has the most amazing jewelry. I actually like to sit around and figure out ways that I could afford her jewelry. You know, the big boys with all that gold and diamonds. So far I have come up with.. winning the lottery.. and selling an organ. Hah.

Her mix of travel, culture, ocean/beach, and sheer elegance makes her jewelry so unique. It’s really hard to find any other designers like her. She has the ability to incorporate shells and stones without making it look tacky (like I have seen so many times, yucko.) She was recently feature in New York Times Magazine and readers had the opportunity to take a peak in to her jet-setting, jewelry designing life. Makes you a little envious, doesn’t it? I am floored by people with so much talent. There are just those people in life that are meant to do amazing things, Sara included.

I’d like to think someday I’ll be one of them too. But in the meantime, I’ll be sitting here drooling over the pieces of jewelry I’ll be purchasing when I win the big one!
