WINTER STYLE WITH A SNEAK PEEK

(Jeans: Current/Elliot, Jacket: Textile by Elizabeth & James, T-Shirt: American Vintage, Shoes: Maison Martin Margiela, Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Clutch: Samudra x Ladyslider)

I have been obsessed with online shopping lately. It probably has a lot to do with Black Friday and Cyber Monday but I have been overexposed with [unaffordable] fashion. I cannot take it anymore!!

I would have amazing style if I could afford it. Haha.

So I had to put together a little winter look for myself to make up for it. This is exactly what I would wear tomorrow if my wallet and the weather would allow. Plus, I could hardly contain myself! I wanted give you all a sneak peek into a collaboration I am doing with Samudra!!! I haven’t even had time to legitimately blog about it [aka wear and photograph it] but I thought it fit perfectly into my imaginary outfit!!

Meet Cold Coconut! Yes, that lovely little pouch sitting in the right corner of my make believe outfit. She will be available on my new SHOP with other gems very soon! It’s the beginning of a new era! I hope all of you will join me for the official online opening. Which will be happening soon and I will keep you posted!! Get excited friends!

Winter style with a very, very special sneak peek!

IN WOODSTOCK

(Photos by: TR)(Top: Samudra, Shorts: 7 for All Mankind, Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Shoes: gift from India)

Wednesday to Thursday [last week]. 27 hours, 6 cities, 5 plane rides, and 1 rental car drive later we finally made it to Vermont! I’ve had better connections to the other side of the world let alone the East Coast!! And you wouldn’t believe what happened to our luggage when we got off that last [somewhat excruciating] plane ride.. it didn’t show up!! Thankfully we packed an extra pair of clothing in our carry-on and were able to survive the following day. Personally and for bloggings sake I would have opted for a different outfit [so pardon the repetition in my poorly planned outfits] but it was all I got.

I probably sound like such a whiner but really.. it wasn’t that bad. It’s all just a part of traveling process. You know?? We even scored a mini shopping spree thanks to TR’s travel insurance purchase! And the weekend and last couple of days have made it completely worth it. I have gotten to know some of the coolest, most talented and unique people and went to one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to!!

Anyway, on one of our first days in Vermont we headed over the quaint [and somewhat ritzy] town of Woodstock. It was a quickie but I really appreciated their attention to preserving that old town charm and especially appreciated this wooden bridge. I really loved the geometry of it and sometimes wish I didn’t always have to be the one in front of the camera to execute photo ideas. But a beautiful bridge nonetheless and..

..a lovely stop in Woodstock.

OLD SUITS ME

(Photos by: Virgi P.)(Swimsuit: Milly, Shorts: 7 For All Mankind, Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Flower Crown: DIY!)

I know it could seem incredibly redundant to share photos of the same sunglasses and DIY flower crown within a couple days of each other but I couldn’t help myself! We decided to go on a little beach excursion [that involved some form of work mind you] and I decided to throw on my Milly one-piece swimsuit. Last minute I put the crown on my head and slipped my sunnies over my eyes as I headed out the door. Suddenly, everything I was wearing felt brand new. I had randomly put together a little beach going outfit that suited me just fine!

So, I have had this Milly suit for years. Years. I can still remember standing in the store deciding whether I should buy it or not. I was on a very tight budget in college and a purchase like that was tremendous! Maybe that’s why it is so valuable to me. I’m sure any other person would have gotten rid of it by now. But I have this thing about holding onto bikini’s and swimsuits until they haven’t any stretch left in them. This suit has stood the test of fashion time. It has gone in and out of trend numerous times. But who cares, right?? I will love it forever and probably make a pillow out of it once it loses all its elasticity. From my college days making irrational fashion purchases to days spent lounging on the beach.. no matter how old it will always be that one-piece swimsuit.

And so I guess the old suits me just fine.

SUNNY DAYS

(Sunglasses: Karen Walker)

If you follow me on Instragram you probably already noticed the [sunglasses] photo days ago. Which is more like 10 years in the cyber world.. if you know what I mean. But I couldn’t help but elaborate on this little purchase. I have been wanting Karen Walker sunglasses for ages. Ages. But let’s be real. I’d rather put $200 towards a new surfboard than a pair of sunnies. So when I was doing some late night [online] searching I found these little gems for $35. Thirty-five dollars!!! Can you believe it?? I hardly can. I love love love finding steals like that! It is honestly what keeps my passion for fashion alive. Because really.. who can afford everything full price at our age?? [Hopefully not too many people because it will make me feel a tiny bit bad about myself.] And to be quite frank that’s how I make most of my purchases. I think it might be a gift [or I'd like to think so.] I wouldn’t be able to afford my pricier taste in fashion any other way.

Anyway, my sister said I look like Willy Wonka and my man told me Yoko Ono. I prefer the latter [if I had to choose] and regardless of the silly name-calling I am incredibly satisfied with my new sunnies purchase. It has been long overdue.

So come on summer.. bring on those sunny days!

LITTLE THINGS

(sunglasses: karen walker)

Sometimes I take the little things for granted.. like long walks on the beach with best friends and happy pooches. Now, I know that the whole “long walks on the beach” bit is incredibly corny.. but it’s true.

Let me enjoy the corn for a moment.
