RIDE OUT

Totally digging these images from Nasty Gal’s latest lookbook. The neutral sand in contrast to the bright, mixed colored clothing. The overly layered turquoise and silver jewelry. The photographers point of view and close attention to detail. I especially love the photography. I’m really looking forward to spring fashion or the recent interpretation of. Whimsy, color, not too serious. It’s always nice to see trends hold strong and carry on. I’d still like to be that girl up to her elbows in silver and stone. And maybe a high-waisted short and cropped top without my chubs hanging out the side. Hahhh.

Fashion images that speak. These are such great interpretations of a free-spirited but rugged girl who knows a thing or two about life on the road and fashion on the go. I bet a lot of girls identify or try to personify this kind of lifestyle. That’s what I love so much about look books and editorials. It gives you a glimpse into an attractive way of life and fashion. It makes you want to get lost in it. Time to start transitioning into a new fashion season. But not too hard.

Let’s ride spring season out.

ROAD TRIPPIN’

(Photos from: here)

Net-a-Porter recently launched a Vacation section to their website tempting us (and maybe even mocking us lesser fortunate folk) to take a vacation. All the time: one big constant vacation. But I clearly need to do some shopping. I thought the Road Trip look book was the most tempting. I could wear just about everything. If I could afford it I would buy it all.

I am road trippin’.

THE 2 BANDITS

(Photos from: here)

I was cruising around the net [going to my usuals] when I happened upon this gem of a look book. Now I’m day dreaming about road trips to Austin, the desert, and stopping at a Navajo or Zuni reservation. Or.. I could settle with designer Tamar Wider’s The 2 Bandits online jewelry stand. Which wouldn’t be a bad decision judging that she several generations deep in the jewelry business.

I have a slight obsession with Native American jewelry and Southwestern charm. I was just talking to my sister and told her that I am attracted to Texas-American interpretation of fashion. You know: American flags, daisy duke shorts, sterling silver, turquoise, worn out boots, messy hair. It’ll never go out of style. The 2 Bandits is a perfect representation of that style.

And I don’t know if any one noticed but a lot of the wardrobe is made up with One Teaspoon and the like. I noticed. Another one of my favorites. Gimme those brown suede shorts!

The 2 bandits Holiday 2013 look  book. Check it out!

THE SPACES BETWEEN

(Photos from: here)

Some times I happen upon really cool things on the internet. It’s quite a treat when these occasions occur. I recently discovered this amazing online retailer with all the brands and fashion curation that I absolutely love but can never really afford. Naturally I have already built my self a hefty little shopping cart. We all know whether I will actually check out or not.. hah.

Anyway, they had this amazing feature/look book set in a glorious, ominous field with breath-taking backdrops. I cannot quite figure out where it is. It reminds me of a flourishing deserts. A cross between desolation and green recovery. Deserted and reclused except for unusually well-dressed models wearing highly expensive designer clothing. Heh. I love it. I love backdrops like these and fashion like that. It revokes a sense of wonder and melancholy that I sometimes like to embrace. It’s an interesting concept. Like being in between thoughts and places. A little like life sometimes.

Those space between failing and thriving. I think I’m there.
