SUMMER IS SWELL

(Photos by: TR)

An unexpected swell hit the country and none of us are complaining! Such a fun little surprise and now we’re all beat. All the muscles in my body hurt. But it is definitely feeling like summer time.. Even with the unexpected waves. The sun, the atmosphere. Wavy days and hot summer nights. My friends and I decided we are going to make it an Endless Summer 2012. I want to to feel like I’m young again and actually have a summer break.

I think it’s gonna be a swell summer!!

RAIN AND SALT

(Photos by: TR; Top: Salt Surf, Flannel: Boyfriend’s, Shorts: Quiksilver, Boots: Loeffler Randall, Bag: Sketchbook)

The weather has been really wet lately and we’re doing everything to stay dry.. even going to the beach completely clothed. While we were waiting for our Pupukea Grill lunch, TR and I went over to Sharks Cove to check out the massive waves rolling into the rocks and I made this amazing discovery: rain boots are the perfect footwear for the beach. I was walking through the tide pools like it was nobodies business. No sand stuck in awkward places. Easy wash off. Stayed dry. It may seem silly but I think it’s genius! Everyone grab your rubber boots and head to the beach!!

I am also quite obsessed with one of my latest purchases from Sketchbook. It’s called a Lunch Sack. Canvas/leather goodness. I originally saw her backpacks on tumblr, traced it back to etsy, and then her website. I had kind of forgotten about it but then saw it featured in Foam Magazine and decided it was meant to be. I had to have something. Thus, the Lunch Sack. She makes amazing canvas and wool products with leather detailing. But I don’t need to tell you that.

Combine it up with Salt Surf and my boyfriends flannel and there you have it. The best way to stay dry in rainy paradise.

So amidst the rain and salt: stay dry friends!

SALT SURF

(Photos by: Salt Surf)

I got to spend my Sunday hanging out with the Salt Surf boys. Yes yes, a surfboard and lifestyle company in New York. It would be a really bizarre concept except for the fact that the surf lifestyle is blowing up in New York. And I hear Rockaway is real fun. We considering going out to the coast. But I’ll pass on surfing on the east coast this time of year though. No thanks.

Anyway, we did lots of fun things. New York is kind of fun. I had my doubts.. but hanging out with boys-who-surf-who-live-in-the-city make it really easy to consider living here. I got to check out their Williamsburg studio and I finally got my hands on a their rad t-shirts. I’m wearing one as we speak.

Hoping to get in more salty sessions with these guys.

In the meantime, I need to defrost from the wind chills and lube my lips.
