BLUE AND WHITE

blue-white-1blue-white-2blue-white-3(Top: Cut25, Shorts: One Teaspoon, Sandals: Marni, Clutch: Samudra x Ladyslider)

Been hanging around the desert for the last couple days and trying really hard not to sweat all over my clothes. Kidding.. but not really. It is hot. I don’t think I ever loved air conditioning as much as I do now. The last time I was in Arizona the seasons were turning into winter with cool days and colder nights. Now it is one consistent heat wave. Expect its not a heat wave for these crazy Arizonian people. While I’m struggling to breathe the hot dry air everyone else is going on jogs and riding bikes like it ain’t no thang. My sister is one of them.

But I’m just dragging a bad joke on too long. It’s not that bad. I’m just being a little dramatic. And all the more reason to wear short shorts and my new Marni jelly sandals. I was so stoked when I found those bad boys on Ebay [my go-to for designer items I cannot afford without giving up a kidney.] I thought they would be the perfect alternative to wearing slippers. So far so good. I feel like a fashionable little girl. Not gonna lie.. I got a couple weird stares because of those jellies. But I don’t care. I love them and I’ll wear them until they melt. Which is kind of unnerve because it could happen sooner than I think if I stay here much longer. Hah.

A blue outfit, white wall and handling the heat.

COLD COCONUT GETS HOT

cold-coconut-gets-hot-1cold-coconut-gets-hot-2The Cold Coconut pouch was getting a lot of face time during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia via the fashion savvy Oracle Fox lady. So I thought it was appropriate to give it a little more limelight and extend its 30 seconds of fame.

It was quite fitting under her arm.. maybe a little intimated by all the designer threads it was matched up with?? Nonetheless.. that little black and white pouch will always be my favorite. The perfect representation of all things tropical and travel.

CITY SLICKIN’

(Jacket: Rag & Bone, Tee: Club Monaco, Shorts: One Teaspoon, Clutch: Samudra x Ladyslider, Booties: Rebecca Minkoff)

Hopped on a plane and headed to Sydney for the start of an epic road trip down south! One of our first stops in Sydney was Surry Hills. Such a rad little area. It rained heaps on us but we managed to duck into a bunch of little shops and keep semi-dry. It was a nice little glimpse of the city and makes me what to come back for more. There just isn’t ever enough time to explore it all!

So.. if you guys don’t already know One Teaspoon is having a major warehouse sale on their website and I got my fair share of killer deals. And it’s where I got my nifty Outlaw shorts. I would wear these everyday if I could. They are the perfect oversized/boyfriend style and my new favorite pair of shorts. If only I could have one in every color. Lucky for me.. I did some shopping damage and have a couple other backup pairs in different styles. You gotta love a good sale.

Speaking of good sales.. or selling in general.. there are more Samudra x Ladyslider on the SHOP! Get them while you can because once they’re gone.. they are gone. Done forever. I have been using the crap out of all of mine. I am pretty sure I see hints of black and blue on them. Bruised from the tolls of traveling and everyday use. But has been the best travel companion. It even fits my DLSR camera along with all my other necessities! I may be a little biased but they are great for traveling in the city too.

Doing a little city slickin’ in Sydney.

PS. Heading south now! See you guys along the way!

SIMPLY SAMUDRA

simply-samudra-1simply-samudra-2simply-samudra-3(Photos by: Jennifer Binney)

I had the opportunity to play “model” the other day for Samudra. It was more like being at the right place at the right time. I’m not really sure you can consider me a model. Good thing I always carry a bikini in my trunk or it wouldn’t have worked out!! Had I know I was going to be posing I would have bleached my mustache. Not that it matters because in every other photo I put on the worldwide web my stache can be read loud and clear. Hahhh. But its more about the bag/tote presentation then my unwanted hair anyway.

Personally, I’ll take one in every print and color. There is something about those Samudra clutches and bags that dress up any outfit. Statement pieces. Makes you feel tropical and fancy.

It’s simply Samudra.

MORNING COFFEE

morning-coffee-1morning-coffee-2morning-coffee-3morning-coffee-4(Linen Shirt: Thrifting find, Shorts: True Religion, Clutch: Samudra x Ladyslider, Booties: Rebecca Minkoff, Jewelry: Various)

Nothing like an early morning coffee run. Puffy face and messy bun included. And I’m sure you and your mother are sick of seeing the Cold Coconut already. But to be quite honest it is my favorite little pouch at the moment. It’s a little hard to switch it up when I’ve become so attached!

Also, I recently purchased those Rebecca Minkoff leopard booties via ShopBop and tried them on for size this morning. [They were on sale.. mind you. Most of my purchases are usually on sale if you haven't already noticed. Haha.] Until now I never really owned anything leopard print or any other animal print for that matter. I never thought it was my thing and didn’t ever incorporate into my style steez. But a couple weeks ago [around the same time as my online shopping spree] I became obsessed with finding the perfect leopard booties. I even ordered a few trial-and-error ones but immediately returned them. Thank you free shipping and returns! But these are perfect. Just enough leopard detail to appease my new found affection for animal print. Not going to lie.. I am on the search for a couple more leopard print goodies. Something I will try really hard to tastefully incorporate into my closet. Heh heh.

Good morning coffee.. leopard print included!

I have been obsessed with online shopping lately. It probably has a lot to do with Black Friday and Cyber Monday but I have been overexposed with [unaffordable] fashion. I cannot take it anymore!!

I would have amazing style if I could afford it. Haha.

I wanted give you all a sneak peek into a collaboration I am doing with Samudra!!! Meet Cold Coconut! Yes, that lovely little pouch sitting in the right corner of my make believe outfit. She will be available on my new SHOP with other gems very soon! It’s the beginning of a new era! I hope all of you will join me for the official online opening. Which will be happening soon and I will keep you posted!! Get excited friends!

LOVE IN THE OUTDOORS

(Dress: Indah, Sandals: Margiela, Clutch: Samudra)

I got to attend an amazing wedding last weekend and watch one of my beautiful friends marry her soulmate. Equipped with a shave ice truck, polaroid memories, a samurai giving a banzai toast, and some of the best food on the island.. the wedding was nothing short of eventful. I had an amazing time. I just wish I had good enough photos [and camera for low lighting] to show it all.

Anyway, the ceremony was held under this amazing tree.. well two trees. A prophetical tree. A banyan tree had grown over a large shade tree creating one tree. It was very symbolic to the placement of the marriage. I thought the colors and texture contrast were absolutely gorgeous. It was the perfect place to exchange vows as the sun sit low in the sky. Magic hour.

It was the perfect afternoon for love in the outdoors.

OPEN FIELDS

(Photos by: TR)(Dress: self made with vintage fabric, Top: Trouvé, Sandals: Martin Margiela, Clutch: Samudra, Jewelry: Hinu Jewelry)

So we traveled all the way out to the East Coast for a wedding and I decided to bring a little bit of Hawaii with my outfit. Everything down to the shell rings! Except maybe the top which was my attempt at being conservative. Needless to say that thing came off right when the music started and didn’t go back on my shoulders until the end of the night! Thankfully we got our luggage less than 48 hours after we arrived so I could actually wear my planned wedding outfit!! Haha. Yes, it was a premeditated outfit.. something I rarely do. But in all honestly I find that dressing for weddings is probably one of the hardest [fashion] things to do. I don’t always have a really nice dress [warranted for the occasion] hanging in my closet. Maybe I need to work on that..

But like I said before, this is one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to. Not only did the wedding last from Friday evening to Sunday morning but I literally danced the whole night of the [actual] wedding. I think I stopped for 5 minutes to scarf down some dessert but as long as the music was playing everyone was dancing!! It was set at The Quechee Inn [this beautiful bed and breakfast nestled between a sleepy lake and picturesque trees] and everything you imagine from a quaint little Inn. You can tell by the photos how gorgeous this place was. I’m pretty sure it is what made my outfit look even better in the photos. Nature was my arm candy… or better yet.. nature is just absolutely gorgeous it makes anything else glow! Corny, I know. But kind of true. Nothing like frolicking in open fields to get to warmed up for a night of wedding festivities!

Fashion and open fields.
