I have been gone on a family vacation over the last week. I'm not quite sure what that means to everyone. But our family vacations are usually quite chaotic and enjoyable all at the same time. We have a fairly large family.. nine to be exact. Everyone has their own opinion on what to do, where to eat, and everything in between. I probably could have pulled out my hair a couple of times. It somehow all worked out though. And I still have all my hair.
It's been a couple years since we have all been together. And coordinating with eight other people can be difficult. Especially since I'm so used to traveling on my own and/or with only one other companion or two.
One of our first stops on the California-Mexico coast was Catalina Island. I was very fond this little island.. not just because there was free wifi throughout most of the island. Everyone drives golf carts or scooters and you have to be living on Catalina Island for at least 15 years before you qualify for a regular-sized vehicle. Very touristic in its own right.. the locals still have a sense of place and the island still maintains a laid-back quality of life.
We walked around, found a good coffee shop, talked to some locals, took in the sites, and overall enjoyed a brief visit to the island. I want to go back for seconds.
A family day-trip to Catalina Island.
