When I came up to California I didn't really have plans other than a family vacation. I was pretty dead-set on burying my head in my computer, sticking behind the lens, and getting as much work done as possible. But when my friend asked if I wanted to go to Los Gaviotas for Presidents' Day weekend I couldn't resist. I cannot pass up an adventure or a good time. No matter what financial or work situation I am in.
So we packed up and headed south of the border. We ended up renting out one of the most gorgeous houses in Los Gaviotas [in my opinion anyway.] On the water, right in front of the break, and the most gorgeous courtyard you could imagine. Colorful Mexican tile, bougainvillea lacing the walls, and a spiral staircase with panoramic views. It was a dream.
I spent most of the weekend relaxing and capturing moments through my lens. Other notable events include two of us [including a tipsy compadre and myself] getting our ears pierced, munching on delicious seafood tacos from k-38, getting a couple of glassy peelers in the morning, making new friends, and watching a couple of killer sunsets.
I don't want to say it was a well-deserved or much needed vacation [because it wasn't] but it was definitely worth it.
Hola again Mexico!
