Summer is nearing and I am prepared to wear bare. I have a strict uniform: a bikini, a lose fitting shirt, maybe a few accessories, and sandy skin. I've already said goodbye to my jeans for the summer. Putting them on feels so horrible when you have sand stuck to your skin anyways.
And in all it's simplicity, beach chic isn't all that easy to pull off. Because there is barely anything there it requires je ne sais quoi. Not just the bikini, or the tan, or the light bleached hair. It's about the attitude and how you spend your summer.
I know some of you think season doesn't really make a difference in Hawaii but it does. For those of you that live on the islands.. you know. There is a difference. Summer has a different smell. It gives you an extra sense of freedom. Your skin is always a little sunburn and there is always sand in your hair. The days are longer and the nights can get weirder. You get a little more adventurous and end up always having a good story to tell about "last summer."
I can't explain it but the summertime as makes me feel young again. Every summer I always feel a little younger. I may not look it, but I feel it. Maybe it's all that bare skin and UV Rays.
Let's just hope I am bikini-body ready.
Style for the beach.
