Some time ago I got to work on a fun little project with the very talented Justine from Jewelry by Justine [you can purchase items directly from her Instagram too!]. I met her way back when I first started working in the scene and she was slanging beads and teaching jewelry knowledge to pretty much every aspiring jewelry designer on the island.
Justine has an eclectic mix of jewelry that translates so well from island casual to city sleek. I love how all of the pieces are so easy to layer but still make a statement on their own.
I really enjoyed taking these photos because Justine allowed me to have full creative direction.. which is kind of my thing. I got to work with my beautiful friend Nicole, pick out the location, and style the shoot. I have been obsessed with this one particular spot I always overlooked in the past.. even though I used to drive by daily. One day while I was passing through I was blown away by its beauty. Lush, rural, a little rough around the edges, and never asking for attention. So many reasons I love the Big Island so much. It is a tropical oasis filled with unique little spots everywhere you go.
I have sort of been holding on to these images for a while now and never thought to show them until now. Its these sort of projects that make me feel like I have purpose. I am not good at much.. but I have a vision and point of view. And it's nice to know I can exercise those passions with fun little projects like this!
The perfect combination of location, craft and projection ; Jewelry by Justine!
