If you don't already know, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Bumble and Bumble's Surf Stories this past week!! It was a neat little project that allowed me to share a little bit of my life in Hawai'i and introduce their newest product to the Surf Campaign.
Working with Bumble and Bumble was probably one of the most fun, creatively rewarding [and challenging] projects I ever worked on. It was the first time I got to direct a national campaign [in addition to working with such an amazing company]. It was such a special experience. They gave me full creative control on the story, styling, photo direction, and everything in between. I got to tell my story exactly as it is. In other words, my Bumble and Bumble Surf Stories is as authentic as it gets.
This is what everyday life looks like [well, on the best possible day, of course.]
And I am obsessed with Surf Infusion. I am not lying when I say Bumble and Bumble is the only haircare product I use on my tresses. I never used product for my hair until last year when I fell in love with the Hairdresser's Invisible Oil. It helped tame my frizz and gave my hair the perfect tousled look. So when Bumble and Bumble approached me, asking if I would be interested in trying a new product, I did not hesitate. I used Surf Spray in the past but quickly found that it was only appropriate when I traveled to less humid, beach atmospheres [like LA or NY.] The Surf Spray is salt-based and great at adding texture to my hair. But when I am in the ocean everyday, texture is the last thing I need.
That's why Surf Infusion is so genius. It is an oil-based product with a touch of salt. And absolutely perfect for my hair. It gives my hair a soft, tousled look with a touch of texture. It is the best of both styling worlds put into one bottle. Did I mention they made the Surf Infusion in a 3.4 oz. bottle? I love that I can just throw it in my carry-on and traveling on a whim!
Anyway, here are a couple shots from our day on the North Shore. It doesn't get much better than that. A truck full of girls, longboards in the back, a couple of cold coconuts, sunny skies, and perfect little waves. Top it off with a couple of beers and a sunset bonfire by the beach? Now that is the perfect day in Hawai'i nei!
