I finally (yes, finally) get to share these images from the Samudra Spring 2017 campaign Surf Jaipur!
It has been a very interesting last couple months and I really think God is refining me in more ways than I know. In between traveling to India, shooting in India, traveling to Australia, shooting in Australia, and all the other shoots scheduled back to back at home.. my computer managed to start corrupting all of my photos, my camera decided to break (mid-photo shoot.. of course) and a whole other series of unfortunate events took place. But in between buying a brand new computer (and returning the same lemon computer), buying another brand new computer, and buying a brand new camera.. I managed to find some time late at night to post these photos.
It's a miracle these photos made it through the madness. Thank God.
Aside from this being one of the most stressful, chaotic, overstimulating photo shoots I have ever been on.. from now on it will be hard to shoot anything else without feeling mediocre. This shoot gave my style of “guerrilla” photography a whole new meaning. We wanted to capture those gritty, raw moments and make you feel like you went through India with Ishita. We wanted to capture the beauty, the colors, the tiredness, the crowds, the tastes, the smells, the chaos. Everything. And even though I probably got 10 new gray hairs and 7 more wrinkles on my forehead.. it was worth it. All the stress, anxiety, crowds, traffic, profuse sweating, and confusion was worth it. Because in the end.. we produced magic. We wouldn’t have been able to create imagery like this anywhere else!
This shoot was extra special because owner/designer Jennifer Binney considers it her own special place. Not only does she produce and manufacture all of her products in India, but she has built a little community in Jaipur she can call her own. It was her dream to shoot her campaign here to pay homage to the place that has inspired her all these years.
Mahalo to our crew (especially Shiv) for hustling and getting the job done!
